I grew up in Southern California in a Christian home and always attended church. I committed my life to Jesus and accepted Him into my heart at a young age. I recommitted my life to Christ when I was a teenager because I had a better understanding of the commitment I was making, and was then baptized at the age of 16. I moved to Virginia Beach in August of 2022, having attended Coastal when I’d visited previously, so it was a natural choice for me to attend with my family and to get involved when we relocated to the area. I have a passion for working with children with special needs and behavioral issues. So I was very excited when there was an opportunity to be involved in launching the CK Buddies program.
I have a Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis, and I am working on becoming a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst. I currently work in the public school system in a special needs class and at a clinic where I provide lessons to help clients manage their behaviors and learn skills to live a fulfilled life with as much independence as possible for their skill set. I really enjoy helping children and young adults find ways that are unique to them that will help them communicate and function in their world around them.
In my spare time I enjoy baking, walking, trying new foods, and exploring new places with my daughter, particularly areas rich with history and antique stores.
