I grew up in a Christian family—in fact, my Dad and Mom were 2 of the most genuine Christ-followers I have ever known. Even with such an awesome family, each of us has to make our own decision to follow Jesus, which I did in elementary school. Since then, it has been a real adventure getting to know Jesus personally—getting guidance from Him when needed—comfort, strength, and conviction when I blow it. I haven’t led a perfect life, but the best part of my life is having a real purpose from God.
While studying engineering at the University of Cincinnati, God called me into full-time Christian ministry after resisting that call for years. I transferred to Asbury College, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education and Church Music. From there I studied at Southern Seminary, in Louisville, KY, where I earned my Masters in Christian Education. Donna studied Social Work at the University of Louisville, and earned her Master’s Degree there.
We later returned to Southern Seminary so I could work on and earn another Masters in Divinity, and later, for a Doctorate of Ministry degree. Along the way, we’ve been blessed to serve churches in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Virginia as Minister of Music, Student Ministry Pastor and Pastor.
Starting Coastal has been our biggest faith adventure! Donna serves as a full-time volunteer behind the scenes and sometimes upfront when needed. She coordinates people and events as well as spearheading marketing, and is an amazing First Lady! We look around at what God has done and is doing here, and who He has allowed us to serve alongside and we feel absolutely blessed and we’re confident the best is yet to come!
One of my greatest blessings is to be married to my high school sweetheart and soul-mate, Donna. We have two children: Casey and Josh. We love our kids, and we love and recommend the empty nest! My interests are family, fishing, tennis, racquetball, reading and Kentucky basketball!
